The buyer paid the invoice quickly, and upon receiving the items complained that the free KC that was sent with the dress was washed out/bleached. I was e-mailed proof photos and refunded $10 to the PayPal address as a courtesy.
However, it was not fair to demand a refund from the seller over the condition of an item that had been clearly stated as 'free' in the title of the original sales listing. I included the KC at no additional cost, which simply made it a bonus item to the sale of the dress. Thus, this made the claim for a refund for the value of an item that had been provided for free feel a bit entitled.
In addition, I did not appreciate how the seller mentioned potentially reporting the issue to an administrator in her first post upon receiving the items before we had even begun to try and resolve it. This was an obvious course of action had the issue remained unresolved, but a little bit of understanding and patience would have gone a long way before threatening and escalating such an easy fix, especially when I was being extremely accommodating on my end.
Sellers to this buyer should beware of doing anything nice by including a free item with your listing!
